COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ARBORS, DRILL CHUCK, TAPER SHANK WITH TANG The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers solid taper shank arbors, which are used to adapt a drill chuck having a tapered mount hole to a drilling machine having a tapered mount hole.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The arbors shall be of the following sizes as listed in table I, which are based on the number and type taper on the shank end of the arbor and the number and type taper on the mounting end of the arbor (see 7.3(b)).
