COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TOOL HOLDER, THREADING TOOL TYPE, LATHE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers tool holders and associated threading tools used on general-purpose lathes for cutting right-hand, 60-degree UN, class 2A threads in ferrous metals.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The tool holders and threading tools shall be of the following types and sizes.
2.1 Type. The type to be furnished shall be as specified (see 7.3(b)).
Type A - Tool holder, rigid
Type B - Tool holder, spring or gooseneck form
2.2 Size. The size to be furnished shall be as specified in table I or II (see 7.3(c)).
